You might have noticed that Cerridwen Press has been attracting some pretty high-profile names lately, including the legendary Bertrice Small and USA Today bestselling author Susan Sizemore. Now, we're pleased to welcome Madeline Baker, author of more than 20 books and winner of a Career Achievement Award from Romantic Times magazine. The winners are selected by RT reviewers, who have raved about Madeline's books over the years, calling them rich, passionate, delicious and fast-paced.
Madeline is best known for her historical romances set in the Western United States and featuring Native American heroes, but she also writes paranormal romances as Amanda Ashley.
Her first Cerridwen title is HAWK'S WOMAN, scheduled for digital release July 10 and print release September 2008. It's areissue of a book that received a four-star review from RT in 1998. Here's what the reviewer said: "Powerful. Tender. Poignant. HAWK'S WOMAN is a beautiful love story full of warmth, compassion and innocent sensuality. Another Baker triumph!" It's the story of Hallie McIntyre, a sheltered novitiate, who finds an injured man hiding in the convent garden and nurses him back to health. In the process, she begins to have feelings about him that make her question her plans to become a nun. When he leaves to continue his quest for vengeance, she follows and embarks on a journey of passion and adventure.
Old fans and new readers will be thrilled to learn that we will be releasing three additional reissues of her Native American historical romances in 2008: APACHE FLAME (August 21), LAKOTA LOVE SONG (October 2) and WOLF SHADOW (November 20). All four books will be released in ebook first, followed quickly by print.
We are currently in contract negotiations with Madeline for a new time travel romance never before published. It combines two of her favorite genres, the old West and paranormal.
